I started working for IBM in the late 80s, and kept working for them throughout the 90s.
My main activities while working for IBM were consultancy and support related. My main areas of work were operating systems and networking.
After that I worked for a small development and consultancy firm for some 2 years during which I mostly involved myself with setting up an ASP network and writing a module for Apache.
Since the end of 2002 I have been working as freelance consultant.
During this time, I saw the Internet evolve from a text only medium where Gopher was the most prominent way of indexing things to what it is now. Seems I saw every revision of html in use starting at 1.0
Another interesting development is of course the fact that my mobile phone and palmtop have a faster Internet connection now then my home network had for most of the time.
As part of my current activities, I am creating an information site for medium and small size businesses (Dutch only).
